Located near the Stratford Olympic Park, the proposal replaces a two-storey corner building with a 10-storey mix-use development, accommodating a commercial unit on the ground and basement levels with 19 residential units on the floors above.
Designed as a landmark architecture, the proposal celebrates and embraces biodiversity, urban-greening and sustainability, serving as a befitting gateway into the area within Waltham Forest.
The stepped shape creates a wonderful opportunity to provide additional generous open-to-sky amenity spaces to the residential units. The rigour of the X-Y grid- expressed within the façade is further characterised by a series of sky planters of carefully selected evergreen vegetation. These sky vegetation forms an integral part of the building’s main elevations- giving rise to essentially a breathing and living architecture within the borough of Waltham Forest.
