The site is located in the London Borough of Haringey, occupying a corner location on the eastern side of High Road on its junction with Brantwood Road, with the new White Hart Lane Stadium merely 250 meters to the south.
The redevelopment of the site proposes a staggered part 2, part 3, part 4-storey building that has been carefully designed to meet the requirements of a constrained linear site; whilst engaging sensitively with the adjacent protected historic building. A commercial unit occupies most of the ground floor, with 7 new well-laid out apartments on the upper floors.
The proposal has been designed mainly in light beige facing bricks, where a lot of thought has been put into the detailing of the brick fenestration in order to achieve the contemporary -yet respectful- look of the building. A second, corten-inspired textured aluminium cladding- has been introduced to complement and provide an attractive contrast to the brick.
The development, as a whole, complements beautifully the adjacent protected heritage assets in terms of scale, material and architectural form and makes a significant uplift to the existing area. It is hoped that the development will serve as a champion for architectural excellence in the area and attract more redevelopment efforts of merit.
